The 5G-OT Alliance is a member-led organization dedicated to influencing and inspiring the market by driving the widespread adoption of private 5G & LTE networking within the operational technology (OT) sector.
To accelerate adoption and ensure successful integration of private 5G within industrial and manufacturing environments, the 5G-OT Alliance has outlined key areas where vendor support and engagement are essential. The following priorities have emerged from the voice of our members:
Product Readiness: Vendors are encouraged to provide clarity on when their solutions are expected to perform fully stable and error-free over private 5G networks.
Vendor Education: A stronger baseline understanding of private 5G among vendors would reduce friction with manufacturers and help accelerate adoption.
Embracing Interoperability: More modular architectures with well-defined interfaces could support smoother integration into multi-vendor industrial environments.
Real-World Application: Demonstrating solution performance in industrial settings will build greater trust and confidence in vendor solutions.
Direct Engagement: Rather than utilizing systems integrators often, members want direct access to vendors.
Solution Certification: Private 5G solutions/vendor reliability certifications by key OT infrastructure partners will improve enterprise adoption.
